Calling Out Racism - UPDATED: With Audio/Visual

This is a call out diary. Perhaps it's against the FAQ but I proceed undaunted.
Silence on racism is complicity. To remain silent in the face of blatant racism, sexism, anti semitism, etc. is to be complicit.
For that reason, I'm calling out the Hillary supporters in Kos and other Hillary supporters to denounce Geraldine Ferraro's blatant and explicit racism. And I am calling out the progressives who support Hillary Clinton to contact their candidate and express your outrage for stooping into the pigs wallow of race baiting.
More after the flip
It is evident that HRC, perhaps under the tutelage of Penn and Rove, is endorsing race baiting. If not, they would get Ferraro to shut the fuck up and step down. Rather than acknowledge that mistakes were made, they are upping the stakes. Their failure to nip this in the bud...to stop the deadly poison of race from spreading at its inception, shows their tacit approval of this tactic.
There are few issues more explosive in our society than race. Russert, Fineman, and Olbermann agree that the Clinton campaign is consciously injecting this poison into the body politic for gain in Pennsylvania and the remaining primaries. I think most clear seeing observers would agree.
The fact that this issue began to ooze out via Bill Clinton and Ed Rendell's comments underscore that this is a conscious theme and of this campaign. The fact that Clinton has not forthrightly called for Ferraro to step down, at this point, indicates all the more that this is the campaign that they are choosing to run.
I have yet to see one Clinton supporter speak out against this. I've been studying the diaries but have yet to see it. Maybe it's happened and escaped my eagle eye. I remind people of their thoughts about Rove and wedge issues and I remind them of how they would feel if these comments came out of the mouth of Trent Lott or Don Imus. I'm calling you out on this. Please let me know that this bothers you. Please let me know that you will take action on this. I note that many Obama supporters came forward and called for Samantha Power to step down after the "monster" remark. Some things should not be just about candidate support.
But let's not think just about racism. Think about the politics of the party. How can this possibly...POSSIBLY...aid the party to anger and dispirit the AA community. Do you really think you'll take the swing states like Missouri? Do you really think that the Supreme Court argument is going to mean fuck all to an alienated block of necessary voters?
For three centuries people have died to obtain dignity and civil rights. Black and white died for civil rights. Black and white were beaten and humiliated in the struggle for civil rights. The sixties were a hard fought battle ground. For some reason, the Clintons have decided to remind the US electorate of how divisions, of our hatreds, of our fear of one another.
I'm calling you out. Is this the vision you want for leadership. It's not about issues entirely. It's about the sole and vision of this party and this country. Express your outrage. Let her know.
To those who support Obama...this is a call to action. Write your superdelegates and tell them to speak out against this. Tell them that those who troubleth their own house shall inherit the wind. Tell the politically vulnerable ones that whatever Hillary is promising or threatening to get their vote will be as nothing compared to a concerted effort of throw out those who are complicit in racist politics.
Call this shit out, folks. This is for real.
End of rant. Sorry.
